AtoN remote monitoring

Track every light, buoy and AIS AtoN station on one digital map, with instant alerts when a light fails, power drops or a buoy drags off station.

The challenge

Vessel patrols are slow and costly: a failed AtoN can go unnoticed for days, directly hurting the availability targets recommended by IALA – 99.8% for Category 1, 99.0% for Category 2 and 97.0% for Category 3.

Key features

Real-time status map

Each AtoN is colour-coded: operating, warning, fault or offline.

Instant alarms

Lamp failure, low battery, poor solar charge, off-station position (geofence) – via email, SMS or app.

Remote control

Change flash character, switch on/off and reconfigure where supported.

Availability reporting

Monthly/quarterly statistics by IALA category, exported to Excel/PDF for regulators.

Multi-bearer communications

4G/GSM, satellite and AIS (application specific messages) – chosen per site.

Maintenance log

Fault history, equipment replacements and maintenance planning.
